A considered frame begins with a close look.

Bring the piece

Paintings, prints, photographs, textiles and small objects all ask different questions. We begin at the counter, looking at colour, surface, scale and where the piece will live. You do not need to know the right terminology before you arrive.

Choose the materials

We lay out timber profiles, mount boards and glazing together, then edit the options until the frame feels quiet and useful. Our collection moves from pale oak and painted ash to dark-stained wood, aluminium and carefully chosen mouldings.

Make it for the long term

Every order is measured, cut and assembled in our Aarhus workshop. For work with sentimental or financial value, we recommend conservation mounting and UV-filtering glass so the materials can age with grace.

A frame is not decoration around the work. It is the small architecture that lets a piece be seen.

Cadre Nord is a small framing shop on Guldsmedgade in central Aarhus. We work with private customers, artists, collectors and independent businesses who want a frame that does not rush the decision.

Come in with a finished piece, a rolled print or simply an idea. We are happy to talk through the practical choices, from hanging hardware to a frame that sits well beside the things already in your room.
